„A blank canvas is really challenging. I feel intimidated every time.

When I decide to start sometimes I build a background of layers with paint, sometimes I start with sketches that I later paint over. Adding and subtracting influences my entire process until the painting is finished.

The outcome is always open. The paintings always seem to want to take their own direction.

Because of my studies in drawing and painting, my pictures often contain figurative elements.“
